What game you thought you'd like and ended up disliking?

For me it was Nier Automata, I hated that it required me to do another playthrough, 9S contextual stuff was pretty bland and left a sour taste in my mouth when I realized that it was a waste of time to play it

But hey I still gave it a chance and did the last playthrough with A2 was actually interesting but overall I didn't like this game don't see the appeal of why people worship Yoko Taro as the second coming of Christ lmao

Callisto Protocol, good God that game IS NOT a Dead Space successor and thankfully isn't to me, jesus christ that dodge is soo effing cliche and wonky, scripted ass game
 
Not trying to sound cool here but Hi Fi Rush, while I get the popularity it has and the recent news of the devs being acquired revived is amazing to see, the game was just not fun for me'
I struggled in the combat and the overall tone of the game was just too cliche and anime like

Agreed on Callisto Protocol, the main character is a junk and it doesn't help that the game tries to be a mix of cinematic shit with the combat, not a fan of the analog stick flick dodge movement either
 
Forspoken. Traversal was cool and combat was decent but holy fuck I could not stand Frey. She was such a brat I stopped halfway through
 
Unfortunately Kingdom Hearts, could not stand the childish tone and cringe that encompassed the series
Loved KH2 but really disliked the rest since I couldn't stand the convoluted and trash ass storytelling later
 
I don't dislike it, but man did Horizon Forbidden West just not click

On a technical level, it's near perfect. Great graphics, animations, etc, but it's a bit boring and the way the story is presented makes you not want to engage. There are so many dialogue sections for the most pointless stuff. You either doze off or skip as fast as you can, but can't do much since it only skips like sentence by sentence lol
 
honestly, Resident Evil 3 had so much potential but felt so short, to the point where I could finish the game in just around an hour. I loved it when I first bought it but was really bummed out when the game had already ended by the time I was really getting into it

the b-team devs who worked on it cut out 2/3rd of the content of the original game, and absolutely shit all over the pacing of the story, it's tragic because re3 on the ps1 was fucking incredible and still one of the best games in the franchise while re3r is just an abortion
 
Rise of ronin I thought would be a slam dunk for me as someone who enjoyed games like Nioh and Wo long but I couldn't get far into the game without disliking it

Nier Automata is fantastic just takes time for you to get engaged with it and its understandable if one may dislike the idea of multiple playthroughs, idk if you played replicant because that game is incredibly heavy on the multiplayer playthrough thing lol
 
Breath of the Wild, easily.
The most bland open world game, I get the appeal for other peeps but I MUCH RATHER PREFER OoT or even Majoras Mask which I heavily adored on my 3DS
Wasted my money buying BOTW and thank I didn't get totk either, sorry to all the Zelda fans in advance
 
Gotta be Sekiro man, was way too fucking hard for me, I can understand the appeal behind it and maybe Im having hard skill issues but that game wasn't JUST NOT my cup of tea at all
 
I bought Dragons Dogma 2 in fomo and heavily regretted it, I get that the combat is great and engaging but my God IT IS SOOO BORING from the exploration to the 0 enemy variety, tf are those people who call it a Game of the Year contender??
 
Sorry to all its worhsippers and I hope I don't get bombarded with pitchforks but in Bloodborne I cant get past the first 10 minutes unless I just run past everything and I have weird ocd with games where I always want to kill every enemy.

For the record, I tried Bloodborne and Dark Souls remastered and I couldn't play either.
 
Control, I love Remedy and their games but this was just bland to the core, and Jesse is the most boring female protagonist ever jeez like there's not a single speck of personality to her or emotions that convey to me
 
Goota be Metal Gear Solid V. It has cool gameplay I guess. But the barren open world doesn't click for me at all

This game definitely has things I find cool which are mostly tied to the main story missions. But everything apart from that is a slog for me.
 
God of War 2018
I really miss the old gow games because this game made me feel for them even more because of how boring the combat was, only thing that made me complete it was the story because it was at least interesting from al the other stuff here
 
Ghost of Tsushima, tried it off of the PS Plus extra subscription and what a surprise to me, a hidden ubisoft cookie cutter open world checklist game
Amazing graphics and combat sure but that's all there is to it
Jin is a bland mc and the story doesn't help him either yuck
 
Mortal Kombat 1. The story was decent up until the rushed multiverse bs started seeping in. I'm tired of timelines and Titans and really wish that the New Era was just going to go back to it's roots.

Another thing that didn't sit right is Kuai Liang is Scorpion now which is fine, but what's the point of making the change if Sub-Zero and Scorpion are going to resent eachother and be in rival clans anyways?

Why not just let them fight alongside eachother for once because that brother dynamic is never shown in the other two timelines and would've been a fresh change. Like damn, if Kitana and Mileena can do it why not Kuai Liang and Bi-Han.
