As reported in Stephen Totilo's newsletter, Game File, Ubisoft quietly released a new game this week called Captain Laswerhawk: The G.A.M.E.. This new release was hardly advertised or given the kind of showy spotlight reserved for major releases, and it might have something to do with how this is a Web 3 game that uses cryptocurrency and the blockchain.

Ubisoft breaks my heart because the company has wonderful IPs and were highly respected in the 2000s, but due to greed the company has turned into another version of EA. They have soooo much potential but end up squandering it every damn time.. it’s sad to see.
 
What really sucks about Ubisoft this year, is they actually did release a good game. But it didn't sell well and therefore doesn't incentivize them so they disbanded that team. The Lost Crown is actually really good.
