As of writing, the drive is #8 on Amazon’s best sellers for video games. On Best Buy’s website, you can’t even order the drive anymore as it’s currently sold out. It is still available on sites like Target, Walmart, and PS Direct.

Don’t fall for this crap, Sony is king of creating fake demand by having limited supplies, nobody with an actual brain is rushing to buy these disc drives unless you’re a scalper or actually have a slim digital ps5.

I don't think it's scalpers buying these. More so I imagine there are a lot of people who've held off buying a PS5 for some time seeing as the PS5 pro was coming out soon. Of course though I'm sure a lot of them will just get a standard PS5 instead seeing as the pro costs €830 w/o a disc drive.

Scalpers buying up stock three months before the product even releases would be pretty audacious. There's still plenty of time for more inventory to arrive.
