Tango Gameworks has been acquired by Krafton, in a move that will keep the studio alive.

Xbox announced in April that it was shutting down four Bethesda studios – Tango, Redfall maker Arkane Austin, Mighty Doom developer Alpha Dog and support studio Roundhouse Games.

The studio seemingly closed its door in June, with developer Takeo Kido sharing photos on social media of what he said was its last day.

However, South Korean publisher Krafton, which also owns PUBG Studios and The Callisto Protocol studio Striking Distance, has now announced that it has acquired Tango Gameworks, seemingly rescuing it.

Saw this news the first thing I woke up, soo freaking happy man!!
Gave me hope that devs and publishers who know quality and creativity in the industry know that it deserves to be maintained for the future

I hope they rehire the staff who left too

Im just worried that Hifi Rush 2 gets the love it deserves since we all know ho butchered the development and planning was for Callisto Protocol and look how it turned out yikes

Game heavily invoked the spark in me that the joy of 2000s games delivered and it really felt like the devs were passionate to continue the project so this is fantastic news to see, normally n one would believe this because of how creativity is dying in this age of gaming

Krafton huh, lmao we might just see Chai and the gang appear in PUBG as a crossover event now hahaha
