Movies Deadpool and Wolverine Discussion Thread [No Spoilers]

Just came back from watching the movie yesterday with my friends, wanted to see how everyone liked it or if they didn't

Personally, it didn't feel like the previous 2 Deadpool movies at all, overall found it just decent at best which I'm pretty disappointed about but hey I wont be too negative here since I still really enjoyed the easter eggs and tons of references and gags

Let me know what you guys think of it if you ve seen it, and no spoilers please

I thought this was pretty fun, but I don’t think I need to see another Deadpool specific movie. Having Wolverine was a very welcome addition, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a little more from this movie.

It suffered from the classic MCU thing where every serious moment is undercut by a joke to the point where they even did the “he’s right behind me, isn’t he?” Bit and then proceeded to call attention to it. The action scenes and fights were really well executed though I have to say.

literally fan service in a good way. more of a marvel celebration movie than a deadpool one but it wouldn’t have been nearly as good without deadpool. i didn’t love the villain and i missed the like normal combat villain instead of the magic stuff but it was good

Same reasons ig, the MCU washover was so noticeable

feel like I can’t really judge this compared to other mcu movies because Deadpool is not really supposed to be taken seriously in the first place. I will say it does have the cgi, pacing, and story problems all mcu movies have but I had a lot of fun watching this.

Dont follow movies a lot these days? is it child friendly or Rated R like the prev deadpool movies? might watch it with my son or on a date with me wife this week
I ve watched the previous deadpool movies but been a while
Watch it with the wife, a really good movie if ur planning a date night, go for it

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman -> The Show Stealers, they literally owned the screen, every single bit they've memorised the audience with their performances

Legit several moments I got excited for and laughed at several jokes. Mission accomplished, that's all it needed to do.

Not the most cohesive film but very fun with excellent cameos

it’s so much fun when it isn’t trying to be a marvel movie. it’s a pretty terrible time whenever the villain is involved, but when it’s just deadpool and wolverine fighting and chatting it’s a great movie.

I STRONGLY recommend watching with your wife and if you can, brush up on the first 2 movies if u ve forgotten, LOTS of cameos callbacks to the old Fox marvel stuff, you ll love it
It still has the rated R stuff, if ur kids young, better to take the Mrs instead here sir, a great and hilarious date night movie

Really enjoyable and great soundtrack the cast alone makes it deserve a good rating although the ending and villain were kinda shit

It isn't as terrible as I had feared, but it also is nowhere near as great as I might have hoped at some point. I turned my brain of once I saw the wall of writers in opening action scene and thought it was okay, yet I couldn't help but actually think about it some more.

I hold the great sin of still not having seen "Logan", but I watched Hugh Jackmans Wolverine ever since I was little. I learned to love him in the first X-Men, I adored his perfect Cameo in "First Class" and I even have a heart for the terrible "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". So even though I still haven't gotten around to watching Logan's send-off - it hurts having his grave desecrated.

For someone who really enjoyed the first two Deadpool outings, this one feels just as good. If you aren’t on board with Reynolds and his brand of humor, very little but the subject matter has changed.

The fall of 20th Century Fox and the current state of the MCU make for some good gags, and Jackman really put his heart into this performance. Outside of some clunky action scenes, this is mostly well-done all around, though I’d say Levy isn’t going for much other than 'serviceable' in the director’s chair.

Just my honest review here, good that someone else enjoyed this way more than I did

I dont like Marvel movies or even Deadpool of that matter, a few of my friends from college kept rambling about it and decided to give it a watch next week hopefully
need to watch the first two tho and Logan since I heard Hugh Jackman gave it his all in that

Its fun and has awesome set pieces with surprises all through the movie that made my crowd cheer and clap many times. No spoilers.

My main issue relies on the story feeling less important for this movie to be big for MCU purposes. The movie’s pace can be felt I think in the beginning of the film. There is stuff for Secret Wars and MCU stuff that can feel like a tease/setup which takes-away from the inner character moments.
