D23 Expo Marvel, Disney & Star Wars [Discussion thread]

Was excited and still looking forward to the Snow White live action just because I loved the of so much as a kid but Gal Gadot's inclusion instantly ruins it for me,

Speaking of live actions...

STITCH IS COMING TO THE BIG SCREENS BAYBEE LESSGOOOO
Thank God he doesn't look like an abomination like that of live action Sonic haha

They totally missed the mark, in my opinion. After all the buildup, we only got a few trailers, and Agatha’s the only one released to the public. The least they could've done is share some info on Wonder Man and Vision Quest.

Keeping expectations low was a smart choice overall, but it was definitely easier to track down footage this time since they were more lenient with phone use. I enjoyed the DD
trailer and the F4 cast looks great together, although I’m not entirely sold on Johnny’s suit.

I’m beyond excited for both Daredevil: Born Again and Zootopia 2. They’re easily the highlights of D23 for me, looking exactly like what I hoped for and then some. Though, I have to admit, it feels a bit strange and uncanny seeing Kamala’s dad in the Born Again trailer, and Snow White from Once Upon a Time with blonde hair.

I’m shocked we didn’t get any Eyes of Wakanda announcements, especially with Coogler right there. It’s hard to believe he attended just to promote Ironheart for a mere 60 seconds.

I understand they don’t want Daredevil to steal the spotlight from Agatha, but an animated show trailer wouldn’t overshadow it. They could’ve at least made one public or given us a release schedule for the animation, especially since everything's so scattered.

Realistically, if Blade hasn’t been mentioned as having a new date in any of this year’s panels, it’s likely still on track but might be undergoing final adjustments. It’s the only 2025 project that hasn’t been discussed yet, which probably means they’re just finalizing the details.

Based on the Daredevil trailer, the action seems to fall short compared to the Netflix trilogy, appearing slower and less intense. It also looks like the characters' complexity has been dialed down, with a more superficial tone.

The only way Toy Story 5 could be interesting—though I’m not holding my breath—is if they tackle the theme of “Yes, kids today use their phones a lot. Times change, old-timers!” instead of just reminiscing about “Remember when kids played with trees?”

I’m worried that Inside Out 2 might be a sign that instead of focusing on creating fresh, exciting new projects like Pixar used to, they’re just going to keep churning out endless sequels to their beloved classics.

I hadn't heard much about Skeleton Crew except for Jon Watts and Jude Law’s involvement, but the trailer piqued my interest. These days, I’m excited by anything that strays from the core Star Wars characters. A coming-of-age tale with a group of adventurous kids and Jude Law as a Jedi exploring the galaxy? Count me in!
