Damage in the DLC is insane. Can anyone recommend me what are the best shields for damage negation in Shadow of the erd tree

If you are going for maximum defense.
Equip Fingerprint Shield with Scholar's Sheild Talisman. It already has base 86 Guard boost. equping Guard Boost Talsiman will also increase it.
Fundamentally you should be aiming for shields that have high Guard Boost as alot already have 100 Physical Damage negation.
in that department Fingerprint is your best bet. More so if you apply Schoalr;s Sheild and Guard Boost Talisman.
Other options are
Verdigris sheild and Black Guard Shield
