Ubisoft’s latest patch for Star Wars Outlaws (version 1.000.002) sparked frustration among early access players when they were forced to restart their games due to issues with older save files. The update aimed to enhance the gameplay experience but left some players losing hours of progress, particularly those who paid for early access through the Gold Edition.

Ubisoft’s Apology and Compensation

Recognizing the inconvenience caused, Ubisoft has attempted to make amends by offering affected players an in-game Trailblazer trinket and 100 Ubisoft Connect Units. These loyalty points can be redeemed for in-game rewards or discounts in the Ubisoft Store. The trinket, a small nod to the early access participants, can be collected from the delivery crate in the Trailblazer once players reach Toshara.

In an email sent to affected players, Ubisoft expressed regret for the situation, acknowledging that asking players to start a new save during the early access period was less than ideal. The email also detailed the process for redeeming the compensation and assured players that the Ubisoft Connect Units would be added to their accounts as soon as possible.

Despite its flaws, the game is a blast to play.

The worlds are fun to explore, and it feels like a mix of Ratchet and Clank with the modern Tomb Raider games. While there are some graphical issues and rough edges here and there, overall, it's an enjoyable experience. Whether you're hunting down iconic locations, zipping through Tatooine, or meeting characters like Jabba, there’s a lot to enjoy.

There are also some clever fan-service missions—mild spoiler: you even get to explore inside a dead Sarlacc, which is a lot of fun!

I'd definitely recommend it to any Star Wars fan EVEN if Ubisoft has had a rough launch on it

Imagine being the ones who paid too much for an unfinished Ubisoft game.

Honestly, it feels like we saw this coming. Ubisoft used to be an amazing developer, but wow, how far they've fallen man

Ubisoft's apology feels insincere here bruh.

They don't seem to care if players are dissatisfied or facing issues.
Year after year, they continue to release unfinished, flawed games. Those who support them contribute to the problem by rewarding Ubisoft's subpar releases and questionable business practices

In a way, the people who purchase these games share responsibility for the ongoing cycle of incomplete releases, just like the executives

So basically

"Here's a 20-minute XP boost to help with the unnecessarily tedious grinding in this single-player game. Enjoy!"

Lmfao Ubisoft is the gift that keeps on giving
