In a statement to Eurogamer, the Assassin's Creed publisher largely confirmed what had been reported - though made clear that the game's team were still present and busy at development studio Ubisoft Montpellier, albeit now on "other projects that will benefit from their expertise".

"Most of the team members who worked on Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown have shifted to other projects that will benefit from their expertise.

That's a shame, I am actually enjoying the game, it seems like a really solid entry into the genre. I suspect it wasn't marketed very well.

What?! This was the best game Ubisoft developed in years. Sad to hear, really. I extremly enjoyed this game. Up there with the best Metroidvanias imo.

I've bought all their "little" games such pop, the rayman duology, Immortal fenix, but yeah for all the complaints about Ubisoft endless iteration on their open world formula, all their pretty serviceable AA titles haven't been real moneymakers.

And then people complain why Ubisoft pushes out copy & paste games only for the most part. People always cry for innovation and fun game but no one buys them. I just don't get it. Same shit with Beyond Good & Evil, Child of Light or Valiant Hearts.

How can anyone hate Ubisoft for playing it safe then?
