Official Regular Updates Will End For Splatoon 3, Via Nintendo

“After 2 INK-credible years of Splatoon 3, regular updates will come to a close,” reads a message on the official Splatoon X account. “Don’t worry! Splatoween, Frosty Fest, Spring Fest, and Summer Nights will continue with some returning themes!

“Updates for weapon adjustments will be released as needed. Big Run, Eggstra Work, and Monthly Challenges will continue for the time being.”

I wonder if they'll start developing the next Animal Crossing before a new Splatoon comes out, since both games apparently share the same developers.

Looks like Splatoon 4 might not arrive until fall 2025, and while it probably won't be a launch title for the Switch 2, it could still release within the first year.
