  • He says it will probably launch in September 2024
  • Doesn't know the exact specs, but Sony is (or was) choosing between multiple configurations
  • (Not sure if he is citing the leak here or backing up the original leak claim with his own confirmed information) He says it would support DLSS-like machine learning upscaling: “The big thing here, like the big feature that this system would support, is Sony’s own proprietary DLSS-like solution, where they use their own machine learning to improve images so they can run things at a really high resolution and really high frame rate, and they would include their own hardware in the PS5 Pro to do this."
  • Speculates $600
PS5 Pro if it was 2010

"Claims it's confirmed," then guesses it will release in September despite having no actual details about it—laughing out loud.

It's amusing that he "confirms" this just a day after Sony sends an internal memo anticipating that the Pro will be leaked now that they've officially distributed dev units.

He knows as much as anyone who sorts this subreddit by "New."

Let's just hope it comes out before GTA6. That way, Rockstar will have to support it—especially since they have a marketing deal with Sony, so it would make sense. Plus, if GTA6 launches and the PS5 Pro is the only console that runs it at 60fps, that would be an incredible selling point. I'd definitely buy it on day one.

The only uncertain part is the launch timing. It might release alongside a major new game, like Wolverine if it's scheduled for Q4 2024. However, if GTA 6 drops in Q1 2025, I could see it launching with that. We know Sony has a marketing deal with Rockstar, so it makes sense.
