It made a whopping $10.8 billion in retail sales - making it seventh on the list of "top 10 global licensors". This placed it ahead of brands like Mattel but it's still behind other companies such as Hasbro and Warner Bros. Discovery. The Walt Disney Company took out the top spot - banking $62 billion. This has pushed total retail and merchandise sales of Pokémon to $91.6 billion.

It’s not surprising. Pokémon is the most valuable and profitable IP of all time. Even Mickey Mouse can’t come close to matching Pokémon’s success.

I've been collecting Pokémon cards and merchandise for years, and it's really exciting to see the value of my collection grow.

If you worked at GameStop, you’d be surprised by how many people come in just for the cards.
