The Plaintiffs claim that Palworld, released by us on January 19, 2024, infringes upon the following three patents held by the Plaintiffs, and are seeking an injunction against the game and compensation for a portion of the damages incurred between the date of registration of the patents and the date of filing of this lawsuit.”

Pocketpair then lists the three patents said to be affect, then states that Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are each seeking 5 million yen, plus late payment fees.

What damages? The combat system at the core of Pokemon bores the everliving shit out of me, and despite multiple attempts I have never been able to get into a pokemon game. Palworld is a completely different type of gameplay that I do enjoy, and buying palworld didn't impact my likelihood of buying a pokemon game in the future

Hmm shall we start implementing better ideas, game mechanics and not release buggy poorly optimised games to win gamers back from competition? No, let’s sue instead.
