Palworld’s Community Manager, John Buckley, has spoken out about the negative impact of labeling games as “dead.” Bucky believes that the gaming industry’s obsession with player counts and the “dead game” narrative harms both players and developers.

In a recent conversation with the YouTube channel Going Indie, Bucky expanded on his views. He argued that pushing gamers to stick with one game isn’t beneficial. “It’s not healthy for us, it’s not healthy for developers, it’s not healthy for gamers, it’s not healthy for gaming media,” Bucky said

Its weird for alive service game community manager to say this since live service games need those kind of people to survive

What bugs me is the need for constant updates from certain players. Most gamers don’t have the time to dive deep into these games, but the dedicated players and streamers who rely on fresh content get frustrated when a game isn’t continuously updated. They’re the ones who label games as "dead," and it just spirals from there.
