Is Silent Hill 2 Remake Worth it

I have been meaning to but but still want to get some thoughts out of those who have already played. What are your thoughts/take and will you recommend?

The game is legitimately great and is a great remake. I prefer the OG overall, but I can’t recommend SH2R enough, whether you’ve played the original or not.

Yes, apart from the laaaag and the crashing I've experienced on pc I've played 2 hrs so far and its brilliant, I'm hoping they remake 3 aswell

It’s worth buying, but the 70$ price tag for 17 hours of gameplay I don’t think it’s worth the $70 the game should be $50

Silent Hill 2 has been my favorite game since the original release back in my high school days. I'm playing through the remake now and it lived up to my expectations

I really think it's a 9/10 game. It's on the level of amazing remakes like Re 2 and Re 4 remake. The gameplay was better than I thought it would be, which is great since combat was never the focus of the OG. This adds good replay value imo. Definitely going for all endings

You should play the original, it's a better game and a better version of this story. Generally agree with you here although I might rate the remake just a smidge higher, like a 7.5 /10 or so.

You'll need to tweak the UI by hiding most elements and changing the reticle to a dot, but overall, it's surprisingly good. I was one of those who doubted the remake because of Bloober's previous games.

I never played the original but i felt it was worth the price. It took me about 20 hours to complete and it was a very entertaining and content heavy 20 hour experience. There is some minor backtracking here and there but not really much imo. Only a few weapons but that adds to the charm.

Very much worth the price to me, but also the game isn’t going anywhere and will definitely get discounted so it’s really up to you if it’s worth the price to play it right now versus a few months down the line or next year or whenever.

I personally thought it was kind of cheap but folks seem to love it so really depends how impressionable you are. It’s what The Ring was to Ring.
