While various big Xbox exclusives have yet to be released, Hellblade 2 has been the biggest first-party release in 2024 so far. However, following a surprisingly quiet release, nobody seems to be talking about this major single-player release anymore.

Even on Steam, the title has fallen below the most-played releases. The player count is down to just 51 concurrent players, marking an astonishing low for such a huge title.

Why it matters: Hellblade 2 launched to solid reviews and a generally positive reception. However, its gameplay was always criticized, which may have been the major reason for these disappointing figures.

Well its a singleplayer game and a very VERY short one at that, I don't see why this is news to begin with but yeah with how the game is, was bound to happen

Its a pretty one and done game, I beat it in 2 sittings when it first releasedand got all achievements, no replay value

Gameplay was obviously going to be criticized ver since they opted for a more cinematic approach but hey I got to see more of my girl Senua so I'm not upset about these numbers or anything for that matter

Although there are positive reviews, there is not much you can do in this game, primarily because it is single-player. Most games with high player count are multiplayer
