Games with actually fun crafting system

Crafting in games sucks. Even acclaimed games like Elden Ring, which do everything right, have a very non-convinient or un-engaging crafting system. And games that do make you look around for resources for hours with minimal drop rate, which makes things tedious. I'd like to know what games in your opinion have a actually fun crafting system

Last Epoch is a standout for crafting in ARPGs. It starts simple but evolves as you progress, letting you create complex and unique items.

You might enjoy Wytchwood. It’s an adventure game where you play as a witch, gathering various items and ingredients from different areas and biomes. You use these to craft solutions and help people with their problems.

Instead of RPGs, you might enjoy some management games. Big Pharma lets you buy ingredients and use machines to process them into medicines for sale.

Another option is Sunshine Heavy Industries, where you get contracts to build ships. Your profit is the difference between what you spend and the contract amount.

Unironically, Minecraft with mods can become a lot like Factorio or Satisfactory within its own universe. My personal favorite modpack for this is AllTheMods.

I like Don't Starve an awful lot. It feels cozy to me but I've been playing it for years. I recall it being a more tense experience before I learned how to survive.

You might also like the Atelier games, which are great for crafting and exploration. Another fun option is Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator, where you get to create and experiment with potions.

Alchemist Awakening might be right up your alley. It’s like a more graphically advanced Minecraft that incorporates magic and elements for crafting and building. I found it pretty fun and relaxing.

Medieval Dynasty is worth a look. Also, The Forest offers a peaceful mode at the start, if you're interested.

You might enjoy Raft. In it, you mainly collect items floating in the water and pull them onto your raft, with occasional island visits. It’s a pretty chill game with plenty of crafting.

I haven't played a lot of games in this genre, so take this with a grain of salt, but for me, Satisfactory stood out. As the game progressed, I found myself getting frustrated with the increasing depth and complexity of managing production lines that didn't quite fit together.

Valheim is really good. The bases you make are cozy and the crafting system is pretty straightforward. The resources aren't ever too convoluted to gather. The way you upgrade your crafting capabilities is fun because you have to actually place upgrade items around your benches.

Gregtech New Horizons is the go-to for hardcore crafting. It’s a Minecraft modpack designed to keep you busy for months, with crafting chains involving dozens of recipes. The depth is staggering, with new machines, ores, and item transport systems to manage. Gregtech is incredibly detailed and complex.

Elder Scrolls Online features one of the most impressive crafting systems I've encountered. It offers a deep and rewarding experience with extensive customization options for gear and materials.
