Camp Locations in Fallout 76

Lakeside Grill - Toxic ValleyLakeside-Grill.jpg

Starting with the number 10 entry on our list, the Lakeside Grill. This place provides a natural shelter in the shape of the -60s themed diner. However, you'll want to build your walls and structures to be more secure. because Ghouls are lurking nearby. I suggest clearing them out so that you can have the place to yourself. Keep in mind that you can still get attacked even after you clear out the enemies but that is rare.

The good part about this place is that you have tons of access to water, materials, food, and shelter. You can even salvage the docks nearby to get more resources. However, since this area is in the Toxic Valley, you won't be able to set up proper border defenses.

In short, these are the things that make Lakeside Grill a great area to make your camp at
  • Good resources
  • Already built shelter
  • Access to water
  • Useful areas nearby

Gilman Lumber Mill - Appalachia's Forest

This is a great camp location as it provides a good shelter that is secured and has all the basic needs. The fence around the perimeter also offers decent protection but you should start building your walls to make them more secure. Plus, this location is quite safe regardless of whether you make a wall or not. There are no enemies nearby - at least not any major ones - and you have tons of supply of wood - with it being a lumber mill and all.

The place itself is situated in Appalachia's Forest area. As you might already know, that region is ideal for starters as it does not require a high level. On top of that, you have access to a lot of flat areas so building structures is not an issue. Here are all the positives summed up:
  • Flat area to build on
  • No nearby enemies
  • Ideal for starters
  • Free supply of wood
  • Good shelter in the shape of the mill itsel

Raider Shack - Hemlock Hole

The Raiders Shack in Hemlock Holes has a good view of the surroundings and provides great intel on the crashed space station. If you make your way up on the hills, you will come across some of the best houses in Fallout 76. Oftentimes, players are not aware of this location as it is quite secluded. Another major plus point of this area is that you will not have to build a Tinker's Bench as it already has one. Plus, it also has a cooking pot!

However, you can sometimes find Super Mutants lurking around so be careful. You can always place turrets or clear them out yourself to make life easier. Having a good Power Armor like the Ultracite Armor can go a long way in clearing out these enemies.

These are all the selling points of this location:
  • Premade Tinker's Bench
  • Cooking Pot
  • Great for defensive set ups
  • Good travel point
  • Ample shelter nearby
  • Tons of Raider's loot
  • It even has a bed

The Seneca Rock Bridge - Seneca RocksSeneca-Rock.jpg

Located between the Pleasant Valley Cabins and the beautiful Seneca Rocks, you'll rarely find players building their Fallout 76 camps here. While you might think that building here will be impossible or difficult - and you're right to an extent, you can get great protection. Since access to this area is quite limited, enemies can only come from a few directions. Also, there are a few rivers here so you get free water access.

Apart from that, it is also a great travel point, especially if you are in the mid-game. It will save you a lot of hassle and travel time when going to mid-game locations or quests. Also, there aren't a lot of enemies here due to the elevated position of the Seneca Rocks. Some of the key features include:
  • Free water access
  • Easy to defend
  • Convenient mid game location

Morgantown Trainyard - Morgantown

This trainyard is located at an ideal place as almost all essential resources are close by. To the West of the Trainyard, you have the Appalachia's Forest - where the Gilman Lumber Mill is. You can also find a river in the Forest which makes it easier to get water. On top of that, there are station vendors in the Trainyard which makes it easier to trade and sell stuff such as ammo.

That's not all though, you even have access to a stash chest that lets you store tons of loot for free. However, there are a few negatives as well. You do not have privacy at this location as it is quite popular and is situated near the airport and Vault 76. This also means that you'll have two fast travel points next to each other. With that said, I believe the positives outweigh the negatives. The major good things include:
  • Free water access
  • Extra stash chest for storing loot
  • Perfect for trading
  • Easy to access public events

The Noose Tree - Toxic Valley

This place looks straight out of a horror movie and it might not be suitable for everyone. However, if the noose on a tree does not bother you, this is a great - and unique - location for you to set up your camp at. First of all, it is almost at the center of most things like quests or other points of interest. Secondly, if you are a fan of creative building, you can design a camp that has a haunted theme to it. Finally, the terrain is flat so you won't have trouble expanding your base in any direction.
  • Easy to access various locations
  • Tons of resources and loot nearby
  • Water is also availalable nearby

Mole Miner Tunnel -Savage Divide

The exact location where you will be building your camp is called the Savage Divide. It is near the Mole Miner Tunnel and Sunnytop Station. At this place, you will have high ground and access to the train station. Oh, and did I mention that you have an ample supply of lead here as well? Building your camp at this location can be a strategic choice at it is a great fast travel point since it is further away from other points of interest.

However, there is a major issue so keep that in mind when building your base here. You will not have access to water in this area. There is no water nearby either. Plus, since it is not a central location, you will have to walk a lot to get to various quests.
  • Supply of lead
  • Near a train station
  • Easy to defend
