Deadpool & Wolverine continues to be a massive success for Marvel Studios, as Disney announced today that the superhero flick has become the highest-grossing R-rated film ever.
In a press release, Disney confirmed that in just 23 days, Deadpool & Wolverine accrued $1,085.6 billion at the global box office. These numbers were just enough for Deadpool & Wolverine to be the highest-grossing R-rated film ever, a title that was previously held by Todd Phillips' 2019 movie Joker.
It's little surprise that Deadpool & Wolverine eventually managed to cross that coveted $1 billion mark. It made $96 million on its opening day, becoming the sixth-highest opening day ever. The success continued throughout opening weekend to become the sixth-biggest domestic weekend box office opening of all time.
