Best characters to use in Risk of Rain 2

Became a fan of the series after playing the remaster of ROR1 and started up 2 and absolutely loved my first few runs but was wondering if there's any definitive guide to the best characters to use depending on their playstyle and their abilities?? Would love some recommendations from you guys

You either go balls in or balls out with the Engineer, the best in both solo and multiplayer

Railgunner melts ez, you dont need to think about anything else, enough said

Well if you want a recommendation then you can't go wrong with Captain since his Vulcan shotty can absolutely melt mobs but try to practice with his orbital strikes since they can be finicky to use but even besides that, he's probably the best risk of rain 2 characters due to the balanced and powerful nature, crazy shit lol

I've been playing RO2 since the first game, and there's nothing that can convince me, any character is better than Loader.
